Parkside’s Kitty Committee
Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic is a nonprofit organization that strives to provide outstanding mental health and support services. Some of Parkside’s employees have extended their love for taking care of patients to a love for taking care of cats as well. Feral cats have become cohabitants in the neighborhood around Parkside and on our property, bringing to our attention that they need to be cared for. In addition to developing a feeding schedule and arranging shelter for the cats, we have put together a Kitty Committee to decide on how to prevent further growth in the population by spaying and neutering, as well as developing a plan for aftercare after these procedures take place. As much as we want to take care of our furry friends, there are costs in caring for these cool cats. We estimate the cost of care for each cat is approximately $40 a month. The cost of spaying and neutering is $20 per cat. We have between 8 to 12 cats! Our hopes in this process, is that all the cats are spayed and neutered with a healthy healing process, they may continue to be loved and cared for, and that if possible, they may be adopted by a caring family. If you are interested in helping in any way, please feel free to donate. If you are interested in adopting, please let us know. At this time, all of the cat population has been spayed or neutered and appear to be healthy. Six kittens were successfully placed in 2021. The members of the Kitty Committee and all of the kitties are very grateful for your help and contributions. Thank you.
